KNX InDepth (January 14, 2019)
Bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering.
That's the summary of an FBI investigation into L.A.'s city hall. The probe isn't limited to building inspectors or staffers; the people under FBI investigation reportedly range from L.A. city councilman Jose Huizar to the former head of L.A.'s building and safety department.
So we will go in depth on what is shaping up to be appears to be an ever-widening investigation scandal reaching into the upper echelons of L.A.'s city government. We'll hear from a city hall watchdog, and then from the Mayor of LA, Eric Garcetti.
Pacific Gas and Electric, the utility serving much of Northern California, is about to declare bankruptcy under the weight of billions of dollars of liabilities from nearly 20 major wildfires. If PG&E can go bankrupt, what does that mean for other California utilities that are blamed for starting fires?
President Trump insisted he was not an asset for Russian intelligence, but there's a lot of evidence to the contrary after it was reported that the FBI looked into the President's stance toward Russia.
And transparency in hospital pricing seemed like a great idea.........now if only patients could crack the code of insanely complicated hospital bills.
