There have been several directors of the FBI over the decades. Most you probably cannot name. Unless you've been locked inside your refrigerator for the past couple of years, you know the name James Comey. The former FBI director is blamed by Hillary Clinton followers for ruining her chance to be America's first female president.  At the other end of the political spectrum, Mr. Comey is lambasted by core Trump supporters--not to mention President Trump himself---for being part of what Mr. Trump calls a witch hunt into Russian interference in our presidential election.

It was Comey's termination by President Trump that led to the hiring of Special Counsel Robert Mueller and the production of an investigation report that will be debated for years to come.

James Comey was the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and Deputy Attorney General of the U.S. during the George W. Bush administration. He's worked at Lockheed Martin, taught law at Columbia Law School and was reportedly even being considered as a Justice of the Supreme Court.

And then from 2013 to 2017, Comey was director of the FBI.

And James Comey is with us now, in studio, on In Depth
