Justin Homze and Trevor Quirk

KNX Hero of the Week
Tuesday, February 19th
Two Ventura County friends spent the last year helping victims of both the Thomas and Woolsey fires.

Here are the KNX Heroes of the Week:

Justin Homze and his friend Trevor Quirk saw a need and they decided to take it on.

As the Thomas Fire was relentlessly burning its way through Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, Justin and Trevor started helping fire victims.

What began as two neighbors working together to fight fires turned into a non-profit called Upper Ojai Relief with a mission to help survivors recover and re-build after disasters.

Justin works long hours as nurse, but he works equally as hard helping fire victims by cutting beams and roofs out of the way on burned properties to help them sift through rubble for precious mementos.

Justin tells Diane Thompson it's all about community and people looking out for each other.

We are proud to name Justin Homze and Trevor Quirk as the KNX Heroes of the Week!

KNX Heroes presented by California Resources Corporation, saluting out military veterans and all our heroes!
