Far from cutting traffic and carbon emissions, Uber & Lyft ridesharing is adding to climate change

Among the benefits of ride-hailing apps there was supposed to be an environmental one: ridesharing with Uber and Lyft was going to cut down on car trips, cut traffic and therefore reduce carbon emissions...........at least that's what we were told.  A new report tells a dramatically different story.

Instead of cutting carbon emissions ride-hailing trips today result in an estimated 69% more climate pollution on average than the trips they displace.
