The death of George Floyd at the hands of officers of the Minneapolis Police Department might have been the spark that started this rash of protests across the country, but this was a fire that was primed to ignite for decades.  African Americans continue to die from police force at grossly disproportionate rates.

So activist groups are seizing this moment, and they aren't letting up anytime soon.
