In Northern California's Marin County, the preemptive power cuts during high risk wildfire weather took nearly 60% of the county's cell phone towers off lines, making lots of cell phones useless.  In an era of rampant landline cord cutting, how will Californians cope if a major earthquake knocks out cell phone towers and there are scant landlines to use?
