Governor Jerry Brown signed this into law back in 2018:  it gave California corporations 3 years to bring more women onto their boards of directors in order to bring greater gender equity in corporate governance.  With one year left to go, new research shows that companies have a very long way to go.

Specifically 1,000 women have to be appointed on corporate boards by next year to meet the gender ratio.  As companies continue to drag their feet hiring more women directors, there are several lawsuits in the works seeking to block this law from taking effect.
