Beware of the coronavirus scams: crooks looking to cash in on a pandemic, from phishing emails to fake charities

There is the very authentic looking email purporting to come from the World Health Organization, which is actually a phishing attack trying to infect your computer.  Then there's the email from the Centers for Disease Control asking for donations, which is a total fraud.  It's just a small sample of coronavirus-themed scams that seem to be increasing every day.

The scams are preying on people at their most vulnerable, filled with fears and doubts about both the outbreak and the huge economic damage done; and there are plenty of crooks looking to take advantage.
