(KNX 1070) -- A fast-moving wildfire is threatening homes near Ramona this afternoon, east of the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

This fire is near state Route 78 and Rangeland Road in Northern San Diego.

The flames have spread to the east over about 150 hilly acres and are posing immediate danger to homes in the rural area.

They're calling it The Rangeland Fire, and San Diego County Fire Captain Kendal Bortisser says they're dealing with some very hot and dry conditions.

Police have shut down a stretch of State Route 78 near the burn zone as crews work to get a handle on the fire.
