UPDATE: Mother Charged in Baby's Death Ordered Held Without Bail

February 28, 2019 - 12:58 pm

(KNX 1070) --The body of a baby boy— believed buried in a Corona landfill— is the clue prosecutors say they need to charge the child’s parents with murder.

The boy’s mother was in court Thursday afternoon and ordered to be held without bail.

Kiana Williams has been charged with child abuse resulting in death. The boy's father, Adam Manson, was in court Wednesday and also ordered to be held without bail.

Both will appear in court for an arraignment March 20 on one count each of child abuse resulting in death.

The parents of a nearly 6-month-old boy, who hasn't been seen since late December, have been charged with child abuse resulting in death.

Police believe the baby's remains were thrown into a trash bin at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw mall.

It's been nearly two months since Jacsun Manson disappeared.

While nobody has been found, authorities suspect he died weeks ago.

Prosecutors say Jacsun's parents were doing drugs on Dec. 31 in a motel room in South LA and later found the baby was dead. They put his body in a suitcase and dumped it in a trash bin.

When the couple was arrested on Jan 3 on suspicion of vehicle theft, Jacsun was not with them.

The family had been staying at a shelter in Culver City.

Police there started looking for Jacsun more than a month ago when child welfare officials reported him missing.

This week, the search took investigators to a landfill in Corona.

A police spokesman says they're developing a new search strategy and plan to start combing the area again soon.

Arraignment for Jacsun's parents is pending.

Earlier this month, police have found the blue 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser  ----  possibly a key part of this hunt for the baby.
