October 03, 2018 - 12:41 pm

LOS ANGELES (AP/KNX 1070) —The fourth victim in a series of attacks on mostly homeless men in Santa Monica and Los Angeles has died of his injuries. He was badly beaten on September 24th in Santa Monica.

His assault was the final one which led to the arrest of Ramon Alberto Escobar.

Escobar's arraignment is set for November 8 and he is being held without bail.

The suspected attacker, Escobar, is already facing a capital murder case. He had been charged with killing three men and trying to kill five others.

Now, Santa Monica Police confirm one of the five has died. Prosecutors are expected to amend the complaint to add another count of murder.

Houston Police investigators have come to Los Angeles to talk to him about the recent disappearances of his aunt and uncle there. Escobar is considered a "person of interest" in that case.

Los Angeles Police say Escobar left Texas shortly after his relatives disappeared and got to Southern California days before the attacks began.

ICE officials say Escobar is a native of El Salvador and a convicted felon who's been deported six times.
