(KNX 1070) - UC Irvine has been sued by a worker who claims she was sexually harassed to the point it created a hostile work environment.

KNX reporter Margaret Carrero:

She met her alleged harasser at an event honoring cancer survivors.

Carlin Motley works for UC Irvine’s Cancer Center and says the man became a volunteer fundraiser who proceeded to attack her at a future event.

She says she felt shattered with the whole thing happening right in front of her supervisor. When nothing changed despite speaking to her supervisor and his, Motley filed a formal complaint with the office of equal opportunity and diversity.

She says they found the man had sexually harassed and stalked her but she was never told of any disciplinary action, which is why she filed a suit.

In a statement, UC Irvine deferred commenting until they’ve had a chance to review the legal documents.
