(KNX 1070) -- A couple of fraternities are in hot water at USC over allegations of hazing.

USC says it takes allegations of hazing very seriously and is investigating.

Sigma Alpha Myu and Phi Sigma Kappa are the latest Greek organizations to find themselves in hot water over alleged hazing activities a couple of other fraternities were suspended last month.

The action was taken Friday forcing the groups to cancel some parties they’re barred from putting on social events pending the results of the investigation.

One Ph.D. student says she’s against hazing.

The vice president of Sigma Alpha Mu says they’re not sure what they’ve been accused of and that there is not a lot of transparency there at this point.

The prohibition of social activities means the fraternity has to cancel a fundraiser meant to pay the medical bills of  the organization's chef who was diagnosed with cancer and recently  had surgery.
