At least 24,000 runners are expected to race on race day, according to the LA Marathon media guide online. Runners from Mexico, Ethiopia, Kenya, Ukraine -- and of course all over LA -- are expected to participate.

The marathon starts at Dodger stadium and goes through neighborhoods like Los Feliz, Echo Park, West Hollywood, Westwood and ends up at the ocean in Santa Monica.
The LASD West Hollywood Sheriff's Station provided the latest details on closures in a press release: the following West Hollywood streets will be closed between the hours of 6 a.m. and 2 p.m.:
- Sunset Boulevard between North Havenhurst Drive and Doheny Drive.
- North San Vicente Blvd. between Sunset Blvd. and Melrose Ave.
- Santa Monica Blvd. between La Cienega Avenue and North Doheny Drive.
- North Doheny Drive between Santa Monica Blvd. and Beverly Blvd.

Parking will not be allowed along the race course.

"No Parking" signs will be posted before the event. Cars in violation will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense.
