(KNX 1070) - There's troubling news for flight attendants. Their job could be putting them at risk for cancer.

Flight attendants are shown by a new Harvard study to have higher cancer rates than the general population.  Sara Nelson, president of the Association of Flight Attendants, tells KNX they face a number of potential risk factors.

The union is calling for clear federal guidelines warning flight attendants about how much radiation is safe, but Dr. Eileen McNeely, who helped write the study, tells us that's not easy.

She says it's also notable that flight attendants typically lead healthier lifestyles than the general population.
