(KNX 1070) -- A Southwest plane on its way from Orlando to California made an emergency landing Tuesday.

The Southwest Boeing 737 Max, flight 8701, was intended for grounding. It took off Tuesday afternoon, but experienced a malfunction and was forced to return to Orlando International Airport.

Officials report that the plane was only holding a pilot, two passengers, and a co-pilot.

The plane was headed to Victorville.

Last week, the White House and President Trump issued an emergency order that all Boeing 737 Max 8 and 9 aircraft be grounded after one of the planes crashed in Nairobi, killing 157 people.
