(KNX 1070) -- A leading scooter maker is entering the local market launching its dockless e-scooters in Long Beach.

The red scooters are already whipping around the city. They belong to Cerritos-based Razor which has been making scooters for 18 years.

And company COO Danny Simon says they’ll be on the streets here 150 as part of a pilot program with Long Beach.

The e-scooters have been a problem in other cities with people just riding them where they shouldn’t and without helmets. Simon says they’ll be addressing those concerns with safety events through their app and social media.

He says they’re looking to bring their Razor Share to other cities across the country.
