Police Patrol Santa Monica Park After Reports of Lewd Acts Involving Homeless

October 16, 2018 - 9:19 am

(KNX 1070) - Police in Santa Monica have made patrolling a local park a priority after reports of issues involving the homeless and lewd acts.

Several police cars have been patrolling Reed Park as a number of homeless people either slept or just hung around.

The city has said Reed Park is a priority for patrols with some people expressing that they feel unsafe bringing their children there.  One woman told the Santa Monica Mirror that a homeless man exposed himself to her 11-year-old son by the tennis courts while another said she saw two people having sex in a bathroom stall.

One woman shook her head and said she’s had experiences with the homeless in the park, but she did not care to elaborate.
