Police Identify Man Killed after Shots Fired Outside Glendale Banquet Hall

(CNS/KNX 1070) -  Authorities today identified a man who was killed in a shooting in Glendale that left another man wounded.

 The shooting was reported at 8:22 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of a banquet hall in the 6400 block of San Fernando Road, Glendale police Sgt. Dan Suttles said.

Suren Tahmazyan, 48, died at the scene, according to the coroner's office. His hometown was not known. The other man, in his late 40s or early 50s, was treated for a graze wound, Suttles said.

A handgun was used in the shooting, Suttles said.

At least one suspect fled the scene in a dark SUV, possibly a Dodge. No arrests were reported.

Meanwhile, a search is underway for the gunman.

The attack happened around 8:20 Saturday night in the parking lot of a restaurant and banquet hall on San Fernando Road near Ruberta Avenue where several parties were under way.

One person was killed and another slightly wounded in the attack, which police say went down very fast.

There's no word yet on a possible motive for the attack.
