Part of Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills Remains Closed Because of Water Main Break

(KNX 1070) - A portion of Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills remains closed because of a water main break at Sunset Boulevard and Alpine Drive.

Crews have now discovered the broken pipeline is owned by the Metropolitan Water District and brings supplies into the city.

Beverly Hills spokesman Keith Sterling tells KNX that the MWD is now working to fix the problem:

"As part of that process, MWD has to reduce their water that is flowing into the city and they are the primary source for water...so now we are relying on our reservoirs until this process is resolved. So that's why we are urging residents to conserve as much water not only with outdoor watering but also indoors, so they are limiting shower time and not doing laundry as often."

The call for conservation lasts for the next seven days.
