Paramount Man Gets 35 Years for Using Amtrak Trains to Ship Drugs Across US

(KNX 1070) -- A Paramount man gets 35-years in federal prison for heading up a drug-trafficking operation that used Amtrak freight trains to ship heroin and cocaine to Chicago, St. Louis,  and elsewhere.

Not only was Edgar Roque the leader, prosecutors in Chicago say he was the one responsible for importing the drugs into the U.S. from Mexico. 

The crew also engaged in money laundering with five other people from Southern California charged for their roles including Roque's brother.
