Olivia Munn Criticizes ‘Predator’ Director for Hiring Registered Sex Offender

(KNX 1070) -- Hollywood is rumbling Thursday after 20th Century Fox pulls a scene from an upcoming film, "The Predator."

Steven Striegel is a registered sex offender as well as a close friend of the film's director, Shane Black.

The decision to pull the scene was made after one of the stars of the film, actress Olivia Munn, discovered that Striegel had pleaded guilty to child sex enticement charges eight years ago. Munn informed studio management, which then pulled the scene Munn and Striegel were in together.

Black apparently knew of Striegle's status but did not notify the cast or the studio, saying he was trying to help a friend he has known for 14 years.

Steve Meister, a defense attorney, and a former Sex Crimes prosecutor said as far as a requirement that Black make that notification, there were no legal grounds to do so.

Munn holds to her belief that she or the studio should have been told about Striegel but is glad the scene is gone from the film.
