(KNX 1070) - Where do you eat or shop if your wearing your MAGA hat makes you a target? Well, now there's an app for that.

Oklahoma developer and self-identified committed Republican Scott Wallace has developed a Yelp-like app called “63red Safe." He told the Washington Post the idea is to “keep conservatives safe as they eat and shop.”

The new app assesses whether shops or restaurants are friendly to conservatives.

Wallace told the Post he came up with the idea in November after considering buying a MAGA hat and worrying whether or not he'd be safe with his family wearing it.

"I thought, ‘Maybe this isn’t the right thing to do,’ " Wallace told the Post in a phone interview. “That was very uncomfortable for me. I don’t want to be a nation where putting Che Guevara on a T-shirt … or wearing a MAGA hat … makes you a target.”

Wallace says the reviews will be crowdsourced and dependent on “the honor and trustworthiness of the reviewers themselves."

The app was featured recently on "Fox & Friends," after which servers for "63red Safe" crashed following an outpour of interest.
