National Weather Service Issues Freeze Watch for LA, Oxnard

February 20, 2019 - 8:48 pm

(KNX 1070) -- The National Weather Service in Los Angeles and Oxnard has issued a freeze watch, which is in effect from late Thursday night through Friday morning.

Temperatures are expected to drop to between 29 and 32 degrees Thursday night into Friday morning. Isolated locations could be as low as 27, particularly in Ojai Valley.

A hard freeze can kill crops and sensitive vegetation, and harm outdoor pets and livestock. Extended exposure to cold can cause hypothermia.

Vulnerable animals and pets should be kept indoors in a house or barn.
