LASD Hoping for Help Identifying Man Who Assaulted Woman During Home Invasion in Rosemead

(KNX 1070) -- A woman was assaulted during a home invasion robbery in Rosemead, and Sheriff's detectives are hoping the victim can give them a better indication of who was involved.

The home, located on Falling Leaf Avenue, is a distance back from the curb so neighbors may not have seen the three men as they approached the house.

LASD Sgt. Oscar Lopez said when the perpetrators broke in the owner's home the woman was asleep in her bed. She woke long enough to see who was in her bedroom.

The woman told deputies she blacked out while being assaulted by the men who then ransacked the house and got away.

The woman was treated at a local hospital.

Sgt. Lopez called the crime unusual because burglary suspects try to avoid occupied homes and tend to avoid physical contact with owners. Detectives will be cross matching details from this crime with other data to see if this is a singular event or part of a string of burglaries in the area.
