(KNX 1070) - The Los Angeles Police Department says they detained people in a big pre-dawn raid in Hollywood Wednesday morning.

Police detained more than 50 people who were living there.

They say they’re investigating potential drug, firearms, and housing code violations.

KNX's Craig Fiegener:

More than four dozen people were detained Wednesday in a raid on what was supposed to be a vacant building in Hollywood.

Police and SWAT officers began serving warrants for narcotics and firearms at the building on the 6300 block of Hollywood Boulevard around 4:30 a.m.

Police had received a tip that drugs and guns were being sold out of the location.

Hollywood Boulevard near Ivar Street was closed and drivers were asked to avoid the area.
