LOS ANGELES (KNX1070) - The arrest of an LAPD officer on Tuesday on charges of sex with a minor saddens and angers officials within the LAPD department.

On Wednesday, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck was clearly upset by the news saying he tries to run the cleanest police agency in the country but there are always exceptions.

Prosecutors will charge 20-year LAPD veteran Ken Collard with four felony sex crimes involving a 13-year-old girl.

Beck said that Collard will be facing more than just criminal charges in the near future.

An internal affairs probe against Collard is already under way even as he awaits formal arraignment on the felony counts.
