Labor Day is almost here and KNX has your traffic details.

KNX reporter Jon Baird:

The Labor Day weekend travel rush will kick into high gear Friday as thousands of Southland residents head out for getaways.

Friday is expected to be the busiest day of the Labor Day travel period at Los Angeles International Airport, with more than 245,000 passengers expected to pass through the airport. The holiday travel will continue through Tuesday, and airport officials said they are expected record numbers of passengers. Between today and Tuesday, more than 1.1 million passengers are expected to pass through LAX.

Extra motorcycle officers and traffic control officers will be added to the area to help with traffic.

You can expect to see more law enforcement on the roadways over the holiday weekend.

All available CHP officers will be on duty for the next four days.  Officers will be looking for impaired or drunk drivers, with several DUI checkpoints.

The public is also urged to help keep the roadways safe.

Authorities are asking people to report any suspected or drunk driving they may encounter.
