LA to Get Obama Boulevard in Honor of Former President

August 29, 2018 - 9:13 am

(KNX 1070) - Los Angeles will rename a street after former President Barack Obama.

The city council voted unanimously this week to change Rodeo Road to Obama Boulevard.

The street runs from near the Culver City border to South Central LA.

Mayor Eric Garcetti said in a tweet, "We’re thrilled that Angelenos and visitors will forever be reminded of the legacy of President Barack Obama when traveling across L.A."

The new name is not to be confused with the famous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

Obama has a Los Angeles connection: he attended Occidental College in Eagle Rock from 1979 to 1981.
