(KNX 1070) -- On this 9/11 anniversary, LA County leaders focus on PTSD and suicide prevention among first responders.

County supervisors are asking for a review of what's being done to help firefighters, deputies, and others cope with job stress and trauma and a plan to address the mental health issues that go with them.

County Fire Captain Dave Gillotte points to the 2008 Metrolink collision in Chatsworth that left 25 people dead and 135 injured.

Gillotte, the president of the International Assn. of Firefighters Local 1014, urged supervisors to back up the talk with resources to improve working conditions.

The report to the board is due in 90 days.
