Those who support the sanctuary state law say they are ashamed Los Alamitos city leaders voted to opt out.

"They are going to deport countless law abiding immigrants who have never done a bad thing in their lives. They pay their taxes. They contribute to the economy," a supporter said.

Others who support the city’s new ordinance say state lawmakers should be ashamed for passing the California Values act. They think it goes against federal law.
