LOS ANGELES (KNX1070) - A caravan of Central American migrants seeking asylum in the United States has been stopped in its tracks at the Mexican border.

Some of those in the Caravan who are seeking asylum seem to be fleeing a specific gang situation in places such as Honduras.

In the U.S. there is also wide spread gang violence the government is unable to control. So what's the difference? We put the question to Kevin Johnson, Dean of the U.C. Davis Law School.

Johnson says it is difficult to get asylum in the U.S. but he adds if the administration follows the law there is a good chance many of those in the caravan will get to stay.
