Becerra Hopes Trump Will Leave California With a Positive View of the Golden State

The state's attorney general says the president should be impressed with progress in manufacturing, agriculture and technology.


LOS ANGELES (KNX 1070) - On the eve of President Trump's first visit to California state Attorney General Xavier Becerra says he hopes the president leaves with a more positive view of the Golden State. 

Trump is making his first trip to California this week since becoming President. His schedule Tuesday and Wednesday includes a Westside fundraiser and inspecting prototypes near San Diego for a border wall.

Last Thursday, U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced a lawsuit over policies that limit cooperation with federal immigration authorities.

Gov. Jerry Brown is inviting President Donald Trump to come to California’s Central Valley while he is in the state. Brown extended the invitation Monday in a letter saying the president should see the state’s high-speed rail construction project.
