LOS ANGELES (KNX1070) - The State of California plans a federal lawsuit against the Trump Administration over questions about citizenship as part of the 2020 Census.

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra is convinced that inclusion of a citizenship question on the Census form will discourage people from filling out the form at all, leading to among other things an under count and less representation for California in Washington.  Dan Stein, President of Federation for American Immigration Reform tells KNX that claim makes an assumption about the Administrations motives.

The administration’s view is that citizenship questions have asked on the census form in the past and are legal.
