Inglewood Could Become the Sports Hub of L.A.

Despite legal challenges, the city is moving full steam ahead building an NBA arena. In addition, its football stadium will attract major events.

INGLEWOOD (KNX1070) - The city of Inglewood is full steam ahead on its plans to build a new arena for the NBA's L.A. Clippers, in spite of a lawsuit by the owners of the Forum who claim they were defrauded.

At a meeting Monday night, officials laid out the timeline for the new arena, and Inglewood Mayor James Butts tells KNX, that's only the start of huge changes and major sporting events coming to his city:

That doesn't include a possible soccer world cup being played at the new football stadium in 2026 and Olympic events happening there in 2028.
