Gov. Brown Holds Global Climate Summit in SF

September 12, 2018 - 9:19 am

(KNX 1070) - Governor Jerry Brown's Global Climate Action Summit begins in San Francisco Wednesday.

Thousands of lawmakers, environmentalists, and scientists are taking part in the three-day event.

UC Berkeley analyst Dan Kammen expects concrete steps to be announced by many of the world leaders, but says the summit does serve a political purpose too:

One of the aims of the summit is to figure out a way to meet the goals of the Paris climate accord.

The President announced the U.S. would withdraw from that agreement last year.
