MISSION VIEJO (KNX1070) - The quick action of an Orange County Firefighter may have made all the difference for a little girl.  It was a YMCA-sponsored Father Daughter event at Newport Dunes. The 10-year old fell out of her chair and into a fire pit. Off-duty firefighter Mike Heddleston ran in to help.

Monday afternoon the two were reunited at the family's home and KNX1070's Cooper Rummell was there:

Her family said they're grateful for this "miracle." Charlotte Chapin is being re-admitted to the hospital on Thursday for extensive treatment. They say amidst all this, she's in good spirits, smiling, but still in a lot of pain.

Paramedics took her to a local burn unit. She suffered a range of injuries, including some first, second and third degree burns along with some damage to her ribs and hip. She's expected to be OK.
