Firefighters Hitting Pomona Brush Fire from the Air

 POMONA (CNS) - A brush fire that broke out this afternoon in Pomona charred at least 10 acres of grass and was burning slowly uphill, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The second-alarm blaze ignited near North Fairplex Drive and the San Bernardino (10) Freeway for unknown reasons about 2:20 p.m., the fire department reported.

The department dispatched one water-dropping helicopter and a dozen engines to the scene, a dispatcher said.

No structures were immediately threatened and no injuries were reported.
