(KNX 1070) - Two years after the murder of a star member of the East Los Angeles Community College Basketball team, family members and the County are hoping a reward fund will yield new leads in what is turning into a cold case.

The reward of $20,000 was posted by friends and family of the basketball player, hoping for tips to the murder.

KNX reporter Pete Demetriou:

Saieed Ivey was killed on June 9, 2016 in a friend'ss car right outside his apartment complex in Monterey Park, less than a mile from campus.

Lt. Rodney Moore with Sheriff's Homicide says that the young man had no enemies, no gang ties and was hoping to advance his future in Los Angeles.
