Family Appealing for Help Finding Missing 21-Year-Old Man

January 10, 2019 - 4:01 pm

(KNX 1070) -- It's been five months since a 21-year-old man who had just moved to Granada Hills disappeared in the Topanga area, and his family is renewing its appeal for help in finding him.

The older sister of Matthew Weaver Jr is holding out hope that he is still alive.

Colleen Weaver-Ferrall, Mathew's sister, says the holidays were especially hard.

Matthew's last form of communication was a text on August 10th. His car was found the next day abandoned near Rosas Overlook, west of the Hondo Canyon area. He's white, 5' 10" and about 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Since Matthew’s disappearance, authorities, friends, and family have conducted multiple searches for the missing young man. His stepmother Brooke told Dateline that police were unable to gather any evidence from Matthew’s car and have not found any of his belongings in the surrounding areas.

Anyone with information should call the LAPD's Missing Persons Unit. A reward of up to $50,000 remains in effect.
