Congressional Hearing Focusing on Preventing and Detecting 'Drugged Drivers'

(KNX 1070) -- As rates of drugged driving increase, there are growing concerns that the nation's police laboratories aren't properly equipped to do important testing.

That will be the focus of a Congressional hearing today on detecting and preventing drugged driving.  

Orange County Crime Lab forensic chemist Jennifer Harmon will be testifying at that hearing:

New data shows 44-percent of drivers in fatal crashes tested positive for drugs in 2016, a huge jump.
