CHP Looking for Hit-and-Run Driver in Monterey Park Area

(KNX 1070) - The CHP is searching for the driver who killed a 74-year-old woman in the Monterey Park area.

Sergeant Luis Mendoza says the woman was not in a crosswalk when she was hit Saturday on Whittier Boulevard near Williamson Avenue after going to the grocery store.

"There was a lot of pedestrian traffic in the area as well. This happened at 10:32 a.m. in the morning and one of the things we know is there must have been a lot more eyewitnesses to this incident than the ones we spoke to," Mendoza said.

The driver was in a late 90s or early 2000s Chevy or GMC pickup truck.

It's tan with a camper shell and a police-style push bumper.

The pickup also has two stickers on the camper shell window.
