Arrests at U.S.-Mexico Border Continue to Rise

(KNX 1070) -- Arrests at the U.S. Mexico border continue to rise, despite President Trump's efforts to deter illegal migration.

After bottoming out last year, arrests have now surpassed fifty thousand for three straight months.  But Doris Meissner, former head of the agency that's now ICE, tells KNX today's border migration is a whole lot different than it was in years past. She says now, many of these migrants are desperate Central Americans fleeing deadly gang violence, a much greater deterrent than any U-S law enforcement policy.
