June 12, 2018 - 9:19 am

(KNX1070/CNS) - Yet another woman is coming forward to sue USC and its former gynecologist accused of gross sexual misconduct.

This latest woman brings to 24 who are represented in a lawsuit against Dr. George Tyndall. Earlier on Tuesday, attorney Gloria Allred held a news conference to announce the filing of an amended lawsuit against USC and Tyndall on behalf of 24 alleged victims.

KNX reporter Karen Adams reports:

Meanwhile, USC also faces growing fallout for its handling of complaints against the university's gynecologist with the federal government.

KNX reporter Claudia Peschiutta reports:

Education Secretary Betsy Devos says - in a statement - “No student should ever endure sexual harassment or abuse while trying to pursue their education" and "Attempts to obfuscate or hide Title IX violations from the Department will not be tolerated."

The department's Office of Civil Rights - or OCR - will be assessing USC's response to sexual harassment complaints against Dr. George Tyndall dating back to 1990.

The agency notes they "were not fully investigated by the University until spring 2016 and that (USC) did not disclose (them) to OCR during an earlier investigation."

USC has not responded to the accusation.

The head of the board of trustees has vowed USC will "fully cooperate" with this latest investigation.
