When a Victorville, California couple hired a dog-sitter from the popular website Rover, they never would have thought she'd abuse their 10-week golden doodle puppy.

Bryce and Amanda Horton were outraged when they saw home surveillance video of the unidentified sitter slamming their sweet girl Lucy into her crate.

The video shows Lucy barely able to stand following the throw.

An investigation by San Bernardino County Animal Control has launched and criminal charges may result.

Although Lucy was fortunate and didn't suffer any major bruises or broken bones, the veterinarian told the couple "her bones must have been made of rubber," because for a puppy to be thrown that hard it's a miracle she wasn't injured more seriously.

Rover told NY Post that the sitter's profile has been removed from the site and they have offered to pay the Hortons’ vet bills.

“The activity depicted in this video is shocking and appalling. We have permanently deactivated this sitter from our platform and will continue to investigate. Any incident of this nature is extremely rare on our platform, and we take it very seriously,” said spokesman Dave Rosenbaum.
