Ventura Police Search for Man who Allegedly Tried to Kidnap Boy Outside of Church

Ventura Police are asking for the public's help in finding a man who allegedly tried to kidnap a boy outside of a church Saturday.

At 6:20 p.m. a 12-year-old boy was approached by a white man who tried to grab the boy.

The victim was walking alone in the parking lot of the Coastline Bible Church in the 400 block of Mills Road near the corner of Dean and Chapel Drives when the suspect approached him and attempted to grab him.

The victim pushed the suspect away and fled to a nearby friend’s residence, where his parents were called, according to a Ventura Police Department Facebook post.

The man is described as in his 40's, red hair, green flannel and black pants.

The suspect was last seen leaving westbound through the parking lot in an older model, grey Honda 4-door sedan.

Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the suspect vehicle. The victim was not injured.
