The Palos Verdes Police Department announced Thursday afternoon that a lockdown was lifted.

The school received an anonymous threat on the phone.

Officials at Palos Verdes High School have met with the local NAACP officials after a photo of students that contained racist language was circulated on social media.

The principal met with the officials after the lockdown was lifted Thursday afternoon. He told KNX reporter Cooper Rummell PVHS is moving forward with unity in diversity training. He says the students were disciplined but no details released.

Due to the lockdown, they announced the school day would end at 12:45pm. There will be no afternoon class.

Palos Verdes High School was on lockdown Thursday afternoon.

Police are on the scene and investigating an anonymous threat and staff and students are sheltering in place.

The threat comes just a day after a racist prom proposal by a student to another student at the high school, which led to outrage from the South Bay community and online.
