Security System Captures Terrifying Screams of Woman, Possible Kidnapping

Southwest area detectives investigating a possible kidnapping in Leimert Park after audio of a woman screaming "help me, somebody help me," was captured on a doorbell security system in the Leimert Park area of South Los Angeles Tuesday night.
Witnesses observed what they thought was a 4-door Prius with two occupants speed off at the time of the screaming.
An African American woman with braided hair, believed to be the victim, was seen in the front seat of the car. Witnesses saw the victim's hair being pulled as she was screaming and observed plastic wrap over the front passenger side window from a possible previous accident. The suspect was also heard screaming, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."
Police responded to a potential kidnapping about 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 3800 block of Third Avenue, but did not find evidence of a kidnapping, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The suspect was described as an African American man.
Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call LAPD Southwest Division detectives at 213-485-6570.
