Across SoCal Tuesday there were marches and rallies by women's groups as part of a nationwide protest against the recently passed abortion bans in Alabama, Georgia, Missouri and other states.

West Hollywood held a 10 a.m. rally and press conference at City Hall Tuesday while other protests were held in downtown Los Angeles, mid-city and Monterey Park.

Some protesters worried this would backtrack the Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade and waved signs that said "Keep Abortion Legal” and “Abortion is a right….no going back.”

There will be dozens of more protests planned across LA County, including 12 p.m. at 250 North Larchmont, 12 p.m. at the Veteran administration building at 11000 Wilshire Blvd, 12 p.m. 300 W Gleason Street in Monterey Park, 12 p.m. at Pershing Square in downtown LA, 5p.m. at 1001 Wilshire Blvd, and 6:30 p.m. 100 Garfield Avenue in Pasadena.

Elsewhere the rallies will be held in Huntington Beach, Ventura, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Torrance, Redondo Beach, San Jose and more.

In Georgia, the law bans abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected, which can be as early as six weeks when a woman may not know she is pregnant.

In Alabama performing an abortion is considered a felony at any stage of pregnancy with almost no exceptions.

Meanwhile, in Missouri the ban is among the most restrictive and would include exceptions for medical emergencies but not pregnancies caused by incest or rape.
