LAPD is asking the public's help in looking for serial burglary suspects who burglarized a home in Northridge.

The department has recovered hundreds of family photos in the course of their investigation and is looking to return them to the owners, who themselves may have been burglary victims.

When Devonshire Division Detective Ian Lewis analyzed evidence from a Mercedes Benz that was stolen on April 27 from a home in the area and recovered 40 miles away, there was DNA material, fingerprints and something else inside.

"I located 103 family photographs that were mostly dated from the early to mid-1990s throughout the car," Lewis said.

Lewis says the photos are of the type people prize including family shots at social gatherings with generations of relatives in the pictures.

Detectives are now putting some of those photos out on social media for two reasons.

First, to find the owners and second interview them as possible victims of the serial burglars which could help them put together a stronger prosecution once the alleged burglars are caught.

Anyone with information about the case was urged to call Detective Ian Lewis at 818-832-0971, or 877-LAPD-247.
